GBM #1: Welcome to Barkada!

Welcome to Barkada everyone! 👋 🇵🇭

Our first GBM of the year turned out amazing—lots of hype filled the room! Many familiar and fresh faces came in just enthusiastic to learn more about BKAD and play some thrilling games like Silent Sort, Boom Boom Balut, and Bring Me. This year’s winner for the Spring Feedback Form raffle was Kart! Then we spun a wheel to select our Involvement Fair Raffle Winner, Lauren! Congrats to them both~! As everyone walked into the room, they were all sorted into Filipino food-related teams: Adobros, Sini-gang, Ubaes, Halo-Hotties, and Spamilya.

In the first game, Silent Sort, each team had to line up according to special prompts and aimed for first place. Then, we played Boom Boom Balut (basically Filipino hot potato) with egg plushies. After a long game of passing the Balut around, MJ emerged with the victory and won points for her team, Halo-Hotties! Finally, the games ended with a classic Filipino party game, Bring Me (aka Scavenger Hunt)! Mia announced an item, and the first person to run and sit in the chair in the center of the room with said item in their hands would win—easy enough, right? That is, until everyone was literally on top each other fighting for the spot! In the end, Halo-Hotties won with the most points and totally swept the competition!
